Verna (Felton) Millar is Notable.

Verna Arline Felton was born in Salinas, California in 1890 and was the daughter of Dr. Horace W. and Clara Felton.[1] Her father died when she was about 9 years old.

Verna was a child performer, appearing at the Victory Theater in San Jose, California, as Little Lord Fauntleroy. [2]Her debut professional appearance was in August of 1900 when she sang and danced in a performance at San Francisco's Fischer Concert House. [3]

Verna performed as a voice actor in many classic Disney animated films, including Dumbo (Elephant Matriarch), Cinderella (Fairy Godmother), Alice in Wonderland (Queen of Hearts), and Sleeping Beauty (Flora and Queen Leah). She also appeared in radio programs, television shows, and live-action films. (See various wikis for complete lists of her contributions in the entertainment industries in the links, below.) Her work in the television show December Bride, earned her Emmy nominations in 1958 and 1959 for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.[4]

She married Lee Carson Millar in Manhattan, New York in 1923.[5] Lee also worked in the industry as an actor.

Their only child, Lee Millar, Jr., was born in 1924.

Verna was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her star appears in the 1700 block of Vine Street on the west side of the street. [6]


According to the Los Angeles Times, Verna served as Honorary Mayor of North Hollywood for several years. [2] Verna

Verna died in 1966 and was interred at Grand View Memorial Park and Crematory in the Glendale suburb of Los Angeles. [7][8]
