Raymond was born in Concord, New Hampshire, in 1887, the son of Charles and Cora (Ring) Fellows. [1] He spent his early years in Concord[2] before removing to Massachusetts with his family, where he graduated from Somerville High School in Somerville, Massachusetts.
He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, graduating with the class of 1909 as a civil engineer.
At the time of the war draft registration, in June, 1917, he was living in Ware, Massachusetts, and working as a laborer.[3] He was described as being tall, with light blue eyes and dark brown hair.
He enlisted in the military during World War 1, on July 23, 1917. He was assigned to Co. F of the 101st Engineers, 26th Division, and deployed overseas in September of that year.[4]
He was wounded in action at Lucy le Bocage, France, and died of those wounds on July 16, 1918. [5] He is buried at the Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord, New Hampshire.[6]
