Freddie Fields was born on July 23, 1923 in Ferndale, New York, USA as Fred Feldman. He was a producer, known for Glory (1989), Fever Pitch (1985) and American Gigolo (1980).
He was married to actress Edith Fellows (their child: Kathy), Polly Bergen (their children: Pamela and Peter), Cherie Latimer, and former Miss Universe 1964 Corinna Tsopei. He was the grandfather of actress Natalie Lander. Father-in-law of David L. Lander. Freddie's older brother was bandleader Shep Fields.
Freddie was an American theatrical agent and film producer. He helped found the "Creative Management Associates" talent agency, with David Begelman, in 1960. He played a key role in the merger of CMA with the International Famous Agency to form International Creative Management (ICM). Freddie later served as president of MGM and United Artists. He was a former partner in the First Artists Company with Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, Dustin Hoffman, Sidney Poitier and Barbra Streisand.
He died on 11 Dec 2007 in California.[1]
