Biography

Henry Emerson Featherston was born in 1917 in Panmure, Victoria, Australia, the son of Annie (Peskett) Featherston and David Emerson Featherston.^[1]

He was a member of the Royal Australian Naval Reserve, mobilised in 1941, and served as a cook.^[2]

He married Joyce Naomi Watson at the Bangalow All Saints Church in 1943.^[3][4]

He died at Winchelsea Nursing Home on 10 May, 2007,^[5] and was interred in the Beeac Cemetery.^[6]

   FEATHERSTON — WATSON. At the All Souls' Church of England, Bangalow, Rev. C. Saunders officiated at the marriage of Joyce Naomi, youngest daughter of Mrs. A. E. Watson, of "The Retreat," Newrybar, and the late Mr. Watson, and Henry Emerson, R.A.N., eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Featherston, of Beeac, Victoria. The bride was given away by her brother and her niece, Miss Nina Watson, attended her as bridesmaid. The best man was Mr. Fred Watson, cousin of the bride. Mrs. G. Dickson pre sided at the organ. The reception was held at the Crown Cafe, where the bride's mother received the guests. The honeymoon was spent at Murwillumbah.
