Biography

Henry was the sixth son of Richard Faunt of Hanstown.^[1]

He joined the 34th Regiment as an Ensign becoming a Lieutenant on 18th May 1810. He retired to Half Pay in 23rd Regiment in 1817.^[2]

Henry married Eleanor, the daughter of Thomas Egan, at St. Mary in Dublin at the end of December 1815.^[2][3] They had:^[2]

The family lived at Hanstown in 1822-3 before moving to Taylorstown.^[2] In 1834 the family moved to Upper Canada.^[6]

Not to be confused with Henry Phoenix Faunt who died in 1843.
