Mary Jane Warnes was one of the founders of the Country Women's Association in South Australia.
Mary Jane Fairbrother was born at Fullarton, South Australia on 18 July 1877. Her parents were Thomas Fairbrother and Jane Mearse Clarke.[1][2]
She married Isaac James Warnes on 12 February 1900 at St Augustines, Unley. Isaac was 28, son of Thomas Warnes; Mary was 22, daughter of Thomas Fairbrother.[3]
They had three children at Leighton, South Australia
They took over the Old Koomooloo sheep station from Isaac's father.
Isaac died in 1944.
Mary died aged 81 at Eastwood on 19 June 1959. Her residence was recorded as Burra.[4] She was buried at Burra Cemetery.
