Research Notes
- Listing of Berks County Marriages 1730-1800 states that a Jacob Eister and his wife were the first Eisters to settle in the upper Mahanoy Township, Northumberland County o/a 1788. Both are presumed members of Himmels Church and both are buried there as attested by Himmels Cemetery records and copies of same on file with the Northumberland County Historical Society. We also note the spelling change from Oyster to Eister both on the marriage listing and the cemetery records. [1]
