William Fletcher Ewell
Private William Ewell served with the Iowa Volunteers during the Mexican-American War

William was born in 1815 to Pleasent Ewell and Barbara Ann Fauber. He is was born about/on 30 November 1815 in Palmyra, Fluvanna County, Virginia. He was 5 feet 9 inches tall, had blue eyes and brown hair.[1] He married Mary Lee Bland/Polly Blann on 30 November 1834 in Carroll, Missouri.[2]And father of six known children.

William Fletcher Ewell was a Private in Company E. He completed the journey to California and was discharged at Los Angeles, July 16, 1847.

He passed away on 18 December 1848 and was buried in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa.[3]Died in Winter Quarters, Douglas, NE. Mary Lee Bland Ewell and her son, William Jr. are buried in the Santaquin, Utah Cemetery. He appears to have passed away at 33 years.[3]He was buried, which appears to be an unmarked grave at Council Point, Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa.[3]
