Biography

Margaret Winifred (Winifred) Eves was born on February 25, 1900 in Millville, Columbia, Pennsylvania, daughter of Joseph Winifred Eves (1881–1937) and Lula Maude McHenry (1880–1917).^[1][2] She attended Millville High School.^[3]

Winifred (18) married Roy Seymour Ikeler (20) (born on May 20, 1898 in Millville; son of Alvin S Ikeler and Margaret Elizabeth (Smith) Raber) on October 9, 1918 in Columbia, Pennsylvania.^[3][4] Their children were:

• Bernard Claire Ikeler (1920–1997)^[5][6]
• Phyllis Elizabeth (Ikeler) Miller (1928-2021)^[5][6]
• Alfred Eves Ikeler Sr. (1933-2012)^[6]

Winifred completed her undergraduate studies at Bloomsburg State Teachers College where she received her degree in teaching. She was a teacher at the Mifflinburg Elementary School.^[3]

Roy died on January 16, 1949 at their residence in Millville, Columbia, Pennsylvania, aged 50. His death was determined by the medical examiner to be suicide from strangulation by hanging from the neck.^[7]

She met her second husband at Mifflinburg Elementary School where he worked as a custodian. Winifred (62) married Merrill Norman (Norman) "Pops" Wagner (65) (born on August 10, 1893 in Lewisburg; son of John F Wagner and Ellen Snyder) in March 1959.^[3]

Norman died on September 25, 1959 in Kelley Township, Union, Pennsylvania, aged 66.^[8] His death came merely 6 months after their marriage. He is buried in Lewisburg Cemetery, Lewisburg, Union, Pennsylvania with his parents, first wife Blanche Elizabeth (Musser) Wagner (1894 - 1952), and one son Kenneth Norman Wagner (1919 - 1998).^[9]

Winifred (61) married Harvey Sims (77) (born on October 28, 1884 in Wanamie, Newport Township, Luzerne, Pennsylvania; son of Rubin Sims and Matilda "Tillie" Orr) on December 30, 1961.^[3][10] Winifred had been the flower girl during at the ceremony for first marriage with her aunt, Irene "Minnie" McHenry, who died the year prior.^[11]

Winifred was a a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.^[12] She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Millville, Columbia, Pennsylvania where she played the piano.^[3]

Winifred spent most of her life in the Millville and Benton area. She lived at her Walnut Street address for 65 years.^[3]

Harvey died on August 7, 1974 at the Bloomsburg Hospital, Bloomsburg, Columbia, Pennsylvania, aged 91.^[10] He is buried with his first wife in Benton Cemetery, Benton, Columbia, Pennsylvania.^[13] She did not remarry.

Winifred died on December 26, 1991 at the Millville Health Care Center in Millville, Columbia, Pennsylvania, aged 91.^[3][14] She is buried with her first husband in Millville Cemetery, Millville, Columbia, Pennsylvania.^[15]
