Alan migrated to Australia about 1906 and by 1913 was working as a salesman in Jillby New South Wales.[4] He served in the First World War, 4th Machine Gun Battalion.[5]
Alan married Madaline Kelle in Wyong New South Wales in 1912 and they had two children.[6]. After they separated, Alan had a third child with partner Catherine Agnes Flanagan (DNA matches between descendants of her son and the Everett family line provide evidence).
He passed away on 27 May 1942 in Chatswood New South Wales and is buried in Macquarie Park Cemetery (prev. Northern Suburbs Cemetery).[7]
