Phoebe May Evans (married name Smith) was born in 1881 in Williamstown, Victoria, Australia, the daughter of Mary Elizabeth (McDonald) Evans and David John Evans.^[1]

She married Lawrence Charles Holman Smith in 1900 in Victoria.^[2] Their children were:
