Pablo Escobar, the billionaire Medellín Cartel drug lord, needs no introduction. While he's probably the most famous cocaine dealer of all time, he also did business in real estate, soccer, and once had a seat in parliament.
With a mixed historical record, he was loved by the poor, but a real threat to wealthy rivals and political actors -- like certain members of the Colombian and U.S. governments. His enemies eventually cut him down at the young age of 44.
Abel de Jesús Dari Escobar and Hermilda Gaviria.
