Richard Leslie English was born in 1891 in Tower Hill, Victoria, Australia, the son of Sarah Reid English and John Thomas English.^[1]

He was a builder.^[2]

For a time he lived at 118 Were Street, Brighton, Victoria.^[2]

He married Constance Meathrel in 1921 in Adelaide, South Australia.^[3] Their children were:^[4]

Leslie died on 11 December 1954 at the Community Hospital in Frankston, Victoria, aged 63.^[4][5]
