WEDDING
ENDACOTT — RAYNER
The wedding of Mr. Darcy Endacott and Miss Elizabeth ('Betty') Rayner was celebrated recently in St. John's Church of England, Mudgee, by Rev. Canon Powell.
The bride, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rupert Rayner, wore a lovely frock of figured satin trimmed with pearls and tulle, and her full-length veil was beautifully embroidered and held in place with a wax orange blossom coronet. She carried a bouquet of white and cream carnations, gladioli and tuberoses.
Misses Joyce Rayner and Nona Gosper, the bridesmaids, were attired in sky blue marquisette over taffeta, trimmed with silver net. Their bouquets were of pink carnations and sweet peas.
The flower girls, Diana Constable and Robyn Freeman, were similarly attired.
The 'groom, who is a son of Mrs. Endacott and the late Mr. A. Endacott, was attended by his nephew, Lester, and Mr. Kevin Rayner.
Miss N. Harwick presided at the organ, and during the signing of the register Mrs. N. Hunt sang "I'll Walk Beside You."
At the reception in the C.W.A. rooms, the guests were received by the bride's mother and Mrs. Gosper (sister of the 'groom). Owing to indisposition the 'groom's mother was unable to attend. Mrs. Rayner was attired in grey blue pic-and-pic, trimmed with black velvet, and wore a shoulder spray of mauve violets, while Mrs. Gosper chose a striking burgundy worsted suit, with black and white accessories.
The beautifully decorated wedding cake was made by Mrs. G, Hyland, of Havilah.
The honeymoon was spent on the North Coast, the bride travelling in a grey costume, with navy shoes, bag and gloves, and white hat.
The future home of the newly-wedded couple will be in Mudgee.
