Biography
When Letilla (Tilly) Emory was born in 1754 in Queen Anne's, Maryland, her father, Gideon, was 29, and her mother, Mary, was 21. She had four brothers. She died in 1780 in her hometown at the age of 26.
From Father’s Will of 1784: to daughter Tilly Emory - negro boy Perry, negro girls Pegg and Liddy with increase, 6 silver tablespoons marked AME.
James Carmichael married Letilla Emory, daughter of Arthur Emory and Jacquelin; 2nd husband. He died in 1778; d.s.p. He was a ship's captain. He left a will on 4 May 1774 at Queen Anne's Co., MD; proved 26 Aug 1778.
