Biography

William married Laura J. Fuqua,Aug. 23,1857,Davidson,Tennessee.[1]

William 26 and wife Laura 23 along with 2 year old Arella were in the 1860 Davidson , Tennessee census.[2]

They had a son,James Wegham Ellis sometime in 1862. It is not know if it was before or during Williams time in the civil war.


Confederate Army POW. Enlisted in the fall of 1861 in Company D, 30th Tennessee Infantry Regiment (CSA). Place of enlistment: Sumner County, Tennessee. Captured on February 16, 1862 at Fort Donelson, Tennessee. Died as a prisoner at Camp Butler,Illinois, on May 16, 1862.[3][4][5]
