Biography
John owned and worked his farm in Keene, New Hampshire.
John was born in 1807.
His first wife, Lorana (Eames) Ellis, is believed to have borne him eight children.[1] She died in 1846. She was only 33 years of age.[2]
As was the custom of the times, John quickly remarried in order that she could help raise his motherless children. He married Dorothy "Dolly" Johnson of Windham, Vermont in November of 1846.[3][4]
He passed away in 1891.[5]
