Florence (Ebbott) Vigers signed the 1893 Women's Suffrage Petition

Florence was probably born about 1858 or 1859, according to the age details given at the time she married.

She was married at age 21, and was a spinster. Florence had only been resident in Christchurch for three days when she and Edmund lodged notice of intention to marry.[1] They married on 4 Mar 1880 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Phillipstown, Christchurch, New Zealand.[2][3]

Florence signed the Women's suffrage petition submitted to the New Zealand Parliament in 1892[4] and 1893.[5]

The electoral rolls of 1893 and 1896 listed her as a married woman living at Waituna in the Waitaki electorate. She was a married woman living at 18 Edward Street, Waimate, in 1911.

Florence died on 2 October 1950.[6] She was buried at Waimate, South Canterbury.[7]

She was a widow of Waimate at the time of her death. She left her entire estate, worth £89.17.4, to her daughter Norah Hellen Vigers.[8]
