Biography

Charles was born about 1838 in Rhode Island.

He was the son of Caroline and Alexander Easton, and the brother of Civil War soldier James H. Easton of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, the first regiment in the United States to enlist men of color during that war.
