Biography

Thomas was born in 1944. He was the son of Harold Ealy and Maggie McCann.

THOMAS EALY OBITUARY Ealy Thomas Vernon Ealy, affectionately known to some as TomCat, age 70, passed away December 22, 2014, the result of a series of strokes. Tom was born February 12, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents Harold Vernon Ealy and Margaret McCann Ealy, his beloved girlfriend Susan Schugg, brother-in-law Bob Zitko and special uncle William McCann. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Heath Sigman; grandsons, Keaton and Aiden Sigman, all of Pickerington, and his sister, Cathe Zitko of Westerville. Tom was a proud graduate of Bishop Hartley High School, Class of 1962. He worked in sales and most recently was self- employed in the lawn care business. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the Bexley Legion, where he enjoyed stopping by to chat with friends. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday, December 29th at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville. Tom will be laid to rest with his parents and Susan at Jefferson Cemetery, Blacklick, Ohio on Monday, December 29 at 2 p.m. Tom was a good soul. He will be sorely missed. Friends who wish may contribute to a charity of their choice in his memory, or raise a glass and toast the good times. Many thanks to the folks at The Laurels of Norworth for taking such good care of Tom during this difficult time. And special thanks to buddies Jim, Don and Barbara for their support. It was truly appreciated. God saw he was getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around him and whispered, "Come with me." With tearful eyes we watched him suffer, and saw him fade away. Although we loved him dearly, we could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. "Rest in peace bro."
