Biography

Benjamin Eley was born Dec 1810 in Pennsylvania, United States of America. He was the son of Peter Ealy and Mary Ann Horn.[1][2]

Benjamin married Maria Staats on 12 Jan 1837 in Knox County, Ohio.[3] Throughout most, if not all, of their married life, they lived in Butler Township, Knox County, Ohio. They had many children. Benjamin was a farmer.[4]

Benjamin died of heart disease on 11 Oct 1882 in Butler Township, Knox County, Ohio.[1] He was buried in Dennis Cemetery in Knox County, Ohio.[2]

Research Notes

  • Birth Date: Benjamin's gravestone[2] and death record[1] give slightly different ages for him (71 years, 9 months, 28 days vs. 71 years, 10 months 4 days), so it's not clear what his calculated birth date should be, although both would be in Dec 1810.
