Born in Ormskirk (Lancashire) hospital, and grew up in the family home in Maghull (north Liverpool).

Went to school in Maghull, initially (from 5yo to 11yo) at Hudson Primary School, then (from 11yo to 18yo) Ormonde High School (later renamed Maghull High School).

On leaving school in 1978, finding work wasn't easy as the country was in economic turmoil - and it was about to get much worse thanks to the "Tory" government led by Margaret Thatcher. By luck, I secured a job in March 1980 as a trainee Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering.

I continued living at the family home in Maghull until, in July 1985, I moved to live in Brighton. There, I met Brenda Griffin, and we married in August 1987.

With another economic downturn approaching, I secured a job Hong Kong and moved there in March 1990 to live and work there with Brenda. We stayed in Hong Kong until June 1997, having 2 children: Jimmy born in May 1991 and Charlie born (in Hong Kong) in October 1992.

On our return to the UK, Brenda and I split up in October 1997, and I moved to live in Tunbridge Wells, where I lived until 2003. While living there I met Lisa Sones in July 1997, who gave birth to my 3rd son Tristan in September 2002.

In 2003, we decided to move away from Tunbridge Wells and spent a year in rented homes in St Ives in Cornwall, and in Exeter in Devon before buying a home in St Ives in May 2004.

The relationship with Lisa ended in August 2005, and in October 2006 the house in St Ives was sold and I moved to live in Ringmer, East Sussex with my new partner Joanne Yates.

We lived in Ringmer until May 2013 when we bought a home in Brighton, where we still live today.

In March 2020, I reached the milestone of 40 years in the construction industry as a Quantity Surveyor.

Hi Ian

Unfortunately I don't have any info where "Frank" churchyard is. I was cleaning up the profile and moved the death location into the biography. (If you click on the changes tab, you will see the alteration). Sorry I can't help any further,

I don't have the 1600's certification to merge the two Thomas Dykes : sorry, this profile was supposed to have been merged several days ago.

Thanks for your note, Ian. What a kind thing you are doing for your cousin. Sounds like you have your work cut out for you.

Is this the Peerage book that was used as a source by your cousin?

A Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Commoners of Great Britain

If so, there is a citation example on that page that you can use on the applicable profiles.
