Biography

Bridget (Dwyer) Hogan was born in Ireland.

Bridget (Dwyer) Hogan was an Assisted Immigrant to New South Wales.

Bridget Dwyer was born sometime between 1822 and 1825 in County Tipperary, Éire, daughter of William Dwyer and Mary Shunny.^[1].^[2]

Bridget arrived in the Colony of New South Wales as a bounty immigrant on December 20, 1839 aboard the 'China' with her parents and twin sister Mary Anne.^[3] Her occupation was recorded as nursemaid.

Bridget married Patrick Corcoran in 1843 in Burrowa, Colony of New South Wales.^[4]

Together they had the following children:

1. Anne Corcoran (1844 - 1930)
2. Michael Corcoran (1846 - )
3. Mary Corcoran (1847 - )
4. Ellen Corcoran (1850 - )
5. William Corcoran (1855 - 1923)

When Anne was born in 1844 they were living at Galong, Colony of New South Wales.

Patrick passed away in March 1856.

Bridget then married Michael Hogan on January 21, 1862 in Burrangong, Colony of New South Wales.^[5]

Together they had the following child:

1. John Hogan (1862 - )^[1]

This was a very short marriage as Michael passed away the following month.^[6]

Bridget passed away on May 23, 1900 in Young, Colony of New South Wales from senility and heart disease (duration of last illness, one day). She was buried in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Young on May 25.^[1]
