Biography
George Duncombe was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)
George Leslie Duncombe was born on October 16, 1893 in Gunnedah, New South Wales, Australia. He was the son of George Duncombe and Lucy Ashenden.
He served in the First World War as a Sapper with the 1st Division Signals Company (Service #5207) from 1915 to 1917. He was discharged due to medical unfitness.
George married Ivy Hitchins on July 8, 1925 in Sydney.
He served in the Second World War as a Sergeant of the 1st Base Postal Unit from 1942 until his death in 1946 (Service #N248823).
George passed away on June 14, 1946 in Concord of illness.
George Duncombe is an Anzac who served in World War One.
