Biography

James was born about 1895, probably in Glasgow, in Scotland. It is thought he was born in Scotland because, in the wedding notice in the Adelaide Advertiser, his parents are stated as being from Glasgow. ^[1]

Is there a place called Glasgow in South Australia? I can't find one. It is also assumed that James was slightly older than Dorothy.

James married Dorothy Pretoria Allchurch on 27 May 1948 in Pirie Street Methodist Church in Adelaide, South Australia. ^{[1] [2]}

Since James was probably 50 or more when he married Dorothy, it is likely that he had an earlier marriage and family.
