- Birth Estimate 1752 - 1759 England
No marriage of likely parents found in Boyd. No christening record found in Dorking transcripts, or in FamilySearch in Surrey. Note the possible death in Guys Hospital - if this is he, it suggests a date of birth around 1752. (1779 Marriage = 20 = 1759)
Since his wife's maiden name was not Gibson, does his son William's middle name refer to one of his grandmothers? (A James Duncan married Janet Gibson in 1748 in Midlothian, and they may have had a son James in 1760, although the mother's maiden is there transcribed as Liston).
