Biography

Anne Duff born about 1834 at Ballaghaderreen, County Roscommon, the daughter of Joseph and Monica (née Dillon) Duff.

Anne Duff, 30 yrs, Lady, daughter of Joseph Duff, gentleman, married on 3 Feb 1864 at Rathgar RC, co Dublin, to Edward Hugh Deane, 38 yrs, gentleman from Foxford, County Mayo, son of Hugh Deane, witness John B. Dillon. [1]

Anne had no children of her own, but she was involved in the raising of the young family of her maternal uncle John Blake Dillion Dillon-4226 and his wife Adelaide following their deaths in 1866 and 1872 respectively.

She was among the founders of the Ladies' Land League in January 1881.
