You sent me a message asking to be added to a trusted list for an unlisted profile that I manage. This is unlisted as the person is a living individual. Unless you were that individual or a close relative you don't need access. It is possible that you chose the wrong profile ID when you sent the request.
posted by Hilary (Buckle) Gadsby
There is a duplicate profile for this person, and we need to merge the two. Unless you can do it yourself, then you won't need my help.
posted by Sonja (du Toit) Hoile
You didn't mention which profile might be the duplicate so I am unable to review a merge.

Sonja,

Thank you for contributing to the January 2022 Sourcerers Challenge! As you know, every source added to an unsourced profile improves our One Tree. Thank you for taking time from your own family history to help others.

Hi Sonja,

I’ve noticed that you're also researching your SA roots, and in particular Bezuidenhout and Venter like me, so I had to stop by and say hi...so...Hi 😊

I thought you might find these SA specific links handy:

I'm sure you've noticed the large amount of duplicates we get in SA profiles, so we tend to create profiles with an outline style and collate data. The collation helps us immensely since it's so important not to delete the work of others. I love this collaborative community of ours, and am thoroughly looking forward to working with you on our shared family tree.

Super awesome to bump into another "cousin"!

Kindest regards ~ Pam

Thanks so much Pam. I have been struggling with Bezuidenhout especially!

Nice of you to get in contact, I will definitely make use of the tips.

Will you be joining us for this years connect-a-thon?

Hi there Sonja!

Thanks so very much for your participation in the spring Clean-a-thon! Every suggestion you cleared (over 400!) made our Tree that much better. The WikiTree community appreciates YOU!

Hi Sonja!

You will need to switch your "french_roots" followed tag to "france". Please check this out: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/846021/french-roots-becomes-the-france-project

Hi Sonja

Good luck with the Clean-A-Thon.

I know we are only 3 in the team but let's see what we can do.

Esmé

Thanks for pushing me to do a merge of two clearly duplicate individuals.
Thank you Sonja for getting me out of the mess I'd got myself into with Martha Moore! (Merged Moore-40460 into Moore-40441)

Thank you for merging the profile of Carl Arentz and Philipp Arentz. This family has so many members with the same or changing name variations that it is hard to know who is who. In this case the Australian name used is just one part of the name in German records.
Thank you, Sonja for your merge solicitation. Asensi Gil-3 and Garcimartin Asensi-5 are the same person.

HI, I see you are working on merges, you may want to review Merging FAQs to understand your responsibilities in doing merges. Remember, after the merge you will want to clean up the text. During a merge, the text from the merged-away profile is simply appended onto the end of the text of the merged-into profile. You will want to integrate it into a single biography and a single sources section. Thanks so much for helping improve Wikitree! If you have any questions, just let me know.

Hi Sonja, a warm belated welcome to WikiTree! Before you venture further into the earlier 18th century - be aware that many / most of the South African genealogical lines and profiles of that period (and earlier) have already been made. This profile Haarhof-34 is a duplicate of the already existing profile of Haarhoff-6 (the profiles of the children will need to be merged as well). [See: What are duplicates? Why should and how can they be avoided?] On the South African Roots Project page you'll find the correct historical place names. The "Cape Province" for example did not come into existence until after 1910; neither did "Germany" exist as such until later in the 19th century.

thanks for the duplicate hint. I don't have anything new on him
