Biography

Ann (Drummond) Jamieson was born in Scotland.

Anne Drummond was born on 10 Jul 1855, in Lochwinnoch, a village in Renfrewshire, in the west central Lowlands of Scotland. She was the second daughter and forth child born to John Drummond and Janet Gibson. ^[1]

In 1861, Ann was aged 6 and residing with her parents, John and Janet Drummond, and siblings, Janet, John, William and Alexander in the civil parish of Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, Scotland. Her father was a cotton weaver and Ann was a scholar. ^[2]

In 1871, Ann was now 16 years, and was working as a flax worker in Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, with her brother Alexander. Her father, being the head of house, was working as a worsted weaver, working with a higher quality type of wool yarn, and her mother continued with the daily household running of the family home in High Street, Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, Scotland. Within these ten years, her family had grown, and Ann now had two more sisters, Agnes and Mary, and a two-month-old brother George. ^[3]

Marriage and Children

Ann was 18 when she married John Jamieson on 31 Dec 1873, in Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, Scotland. ^[4]

In 1881, Ann (26) was the married wife of John Jamieson (27), and they were residing at Braehead, Beith, Ayrshire, Scotland. She was a young mother with three children, Mary (4), John (2) and Jane (9mo). ^[11]

In 1901, Ann (46) was residing in New Street, Beith, Ayrshire with her husband John and children John, Robert and William. They were residing in New Street, Beith, Ayrshire and her husband John's occupation was a wood yard labourer. Their son John was a wood turner, son Robert had started an apprenticeship as a French polisher and 12-year-old son William was a scholar. ^[12]

Her date of death is presently unknown.

Research Notes

In the 1901 Scotland Census, Annie was residing in Beith, Ayrshire Scotland. This is the last record sourced, and no further search results have been found through ScotlandsPeople nor FamilySearch at this time.
