OBITUARY: Marion L. Tuxhorn, age 94, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Timothy Wenger will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Marion was born May 4, 1922 in Wisconsin Rapids to John and Emma (Enerson) Driscoll.
She served her country in the United States Air Force during World War II.
Marion was united in marriage to Leonard Tuxhorn on May 24, 1947 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1968.
She worked as a CNA at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards for 13 years and later as a private caregiver.
Marion was an active member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and its Sarah Circle. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, puzzles, baking and doing plastic canvas projects.
Marion is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Tuxhorn of Wisconsin Rapids; brother-in-law, Jim Berryman of Wisconsin Rapids; nieces: Andrea Driscoll-Bruley, Debra (Bob) Walker, Kay Marceau, and Ruth (Eric) Hamin; nephews: David Driscoll, Mark (Lisa) Berryman, and Doug (Sue) Tuxhorn; great-nieces: Kris Villars, Pam (Scott) Dougherty, Lori (Matt) Harmsen, and Terri (Dave) Arndt; and longtime friends: Rhonda Peterson and Muriel Carlson; and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Roy Moore, son John Tuxhorn, brothers: Arnold (Janet) Driscoll and Donald Driscoll, sisters: Thelma (Carl) Carlson and Carol Berryman, nephew, Chris Carlson, and niece, Karen (Bill) Killian.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
The family would like to thank Aspirus Hospice for all of their care and concern for Marion, especially Hayley, Beth, Donna and Flora.
