Jean/John II was 3rd Earl of Richmond and Duke of Brittany/Bretagne from 1268 to his death. He was son of Duke Jean/John I and Blanche of Navarre. Also during this time, there is the dual use of "of Brittany" and "de Bretagne", the French translation.
On 22 January 1260, John married Beatrice of England, a daughter of King Henry III of England and Eleanor of Provence.
He was killed during the celebrations surrounding the coronation of Pope Clement V in 1305.[1]
