When Dorcas Wilma Draper was born on 29 October 1926, in Zolfo Springs, Hardee, Florida, United States, her parents were Ashley Johnson Draper and Iris J. Powell.
In 1930, Dorcas's mother died and all the siblings were place in an orphanage in Arcadia, DeSoto, Florida, United States called the Florida Baptist Orphanage.[1]
In 1940, the three (3) youngest children were transferred to Holston Home for Children in Greeneville, Greene, Tennessee, United States.[2]
In 1945, Dorcas was 18 and moved to Florida City, Dade, Florida, United States.[3]
By 1950, she was married to Claude M. McChesney and lived in Birmingham, Jefferson, Alabama, United States with her first child.[4]
She had at least 2 sons with Claude Marlin McChesney:
She lived in Dade, Florida, United States in 1945 and Birmingham, Jefferson, Alabama, United States in 1950.[7]
She died on 14 September 2001, in Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia, United States, at the age of 74,[8] and was buried in Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs, Fulton, Georgia, United States.[9]
