I was born and raised in Loveland Colorado. My father is also a Colorado native as is his father. The Drage line traces back to Lincolnshire, England (specifically Stamford). The end of my Drage line in research terms, is William Drage, born ~1806 (possibly outside of Lincolnshire), died 1846 in Stamford. He had several sons, at least two of whom emigrated to America in the mid-1800s. There are a few non-Drage acestors who were in Virginia in the 1700s -- moved to Kentucky, then Illinois, before moving further west into Nebraska and Colorado.
My dad's family also has a heavy dose of Swedish. His mother was born to two children of Swedish immigrants. Both of those immigrant families came from Laholm in the 1800s.
My mother's family is more east-coast based and has been in the US longer (with the exception of her paternal grandfather who came here from Denmark in the early 1900s). Her maternal line is primarily southern-Maryland/Washington, DC based and her paternal line (outside of aforementioned grandfather from Copenhagen), is from Southern Virginia - Amherst and Botetourt Counties; and from the midwest (Illinois - but before Illinois, they were Mayflower descendants in New Hampshire and Connecticut).
