Robert Dowie, son of Charles Dowie and Mary Trail, was born on 22 Oct 1845 at Newburn, Fife, Scotland. [1]
Robert (age 6) arrived at Port Henry, Victoria on 5 June 1852, aboard the ship "Mangerton" (which left Liverpool, England on 26 January 1852) along with his parents, Charles (aged 32) and Mary (aged 34), and his siblings: William (age 2)and Margaret (Infant). [2]
