CEREMONY AT VAUCLUSE. Whitlam-Dovey Wedding. Of interest to Sydney University and swimming circles and to the legal profession was the wedding of Miss Margaret Dovey, the well-known swimmer, and Mr. Edward Gough Whitlam, which took place at St. Michael's Church, Vaucluse, yesterday afternoon. The bride, who is the only daughter of Mr. W. R. Dovey, K.C., and Mrs. Dovey, of Vaucluse, wore a white satin bridal frock, and carried a handkerchief which belonged to her mother. She was attended by Mrs. Cedric Ashton and Miss Freda Whitlam, sister of the bridegroom, who both wore sapphire blue velvet frocks. The bridegroom, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. F. W. Whitlam, of Canberra, and is associate to Mr. Justice Maxwell, is a member of the R.A.A.F. Reserve, and a graduate in Arts of Sydney University, where he is in his final year as a law student. Canon A. H. Garnsey, warden of St. Paul's College, Sydney University, of which the bridegroom was senior student, officiated. A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents at Vaucluse. After a short honeymoon. Mr. and Mrs. Gough Whitlam will make their home at Elizabeth Bay, where they have taken a flat.
