Frederick was born about 1842. He is the son of abolitionist Frederick Douglass and his first wife, Anna Murray Douglass.

Burial: Graceland Cemetery, Washington, District of Columbia
Reinterment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Benning, District of Columbia

Civil War Service: His FindAGrave memorial lists Civil War service in Company K, 25th United States Colored Troops. However, that is a different Frederick Douglas. The man who served in Company K, 25th USCT died 1 February 1930[2] and left a widow named Margaret.[3]
