Claud was born on 26 May 1889. He was the son of Aubrey Douglas-Hamilton and Lucy Fitzgerald.[1]
He was also known as Claud Archibald Aubrey Hamilton.

He was educated at Uppingham School, Uppingham, Rutland, England. Claud graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1910 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).
Claud married Evelyn Addison Chater (daughter of Thomas Addison Chater) on 8 October 1915. They had at least one daughter; Evelyn.
He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1920.
He was in the Egyptian Civil Service and was awarded the Order of the Nile 4th class.
Claud passed away in 1961 at the age of about 71.[2]
