Biography

Alison (Douglas) Home is a member of Clan Douglas.

Alison Douglas was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.

Alison Douglas was the daughter of George Douglas, Master of Angus and Elizabeth Drummond. ^[1]

She had been supposed to marry William Douglas younger of Cavers before 1506 by contract but that does not seem to have happened.

Instead, she married, about 1511, Robert Blackadder, the son of Andrew Blackadder of that Ilk. They had issue:

1. Margaret
2. Beatrix.

They married Robert and John Hume, younger brothers of Sir David Hume of Wedderburn,

Alison married David Hume after Robert was killed at Flodden. They had issue 3 sons 2 daughters

The 1506 marriage contracted to WIlliam Douglas would imply she was born before 1494 were the contract expected to be fulfilled immediately but a contract for marriage is sometimes created years ahead of marriagable age and in this case merely indicates that she was born before the contract was made. Her parents married in Mar 1488 so clearly (hopefully) she was born after 1488.
