Robert Douglas, 12th Earl of Morton was born before 1661. He was the son of James Douglas, 10th Earl of Morton and Anne Hay. He died on 22 January 1730, unmarried.
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Wick Burghs from 1709 to 1710. He succeeded as the 12th Earl of Morton [S., 1458] on 7 December 1715.
