Nicholas Dormion was probably born about 1562, in Guînes, France, although this date and place are unconfirmed. He is listed as Sara (Saye) Sohier's maternal uncle in her marriage record. The family were from Guînes and were Protestant Christians, aka French Huguenots.

[domiciled] in Guînes, her uncle on the maternal side."
