Vera Speicher turns 100 at Life Care Center of LaGrange.

Vera Speicher, a resident at Life Care Center of LaGrange, Ind, celebrated a special occasion on Dec 4, 2010.

The day marked Speicher's 100th birthday, and she celebrated with a party and cake at the facility, together with friends and family. She was inducted into Life Care Centers of America's Century Club for centenarians.

Born in Noble County, Ind, Speicher grew up on a farm with a large family. She was 18 years old when she married Titus Speicher, and they lived on a farm east of LaGrange for almost 70 years. They were blessed with seven children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Speicher worked as a nurse's aide and served Parkview LaGrange Hospital for more than 10 years, a job she found rewarding in serving others.

When Speicher was asked why she felt she has lived so long, her daughter June shared that her mother always said, "God has been so good to me; He has truly blessed me in every way." No sources.
