Biography

Barbara was born in 1934.[1] She was the daughter of Joseph Dolgin and Helen Lapidus.[2] She married Stanley Walden in 1955.[3][4]

Barbara died in 2012. She was buried at Neptune Memorial Reef in Key Biscayne, Florida.[5]

Obituary

Barbara ("Bobbie") Walden, a resident of Palm Springs, died at her home at the age of 78, on August 4, 2012, from complications of COPD. She was well known as the founder and leader of The Knitting Circle at the Mizell Senior Center. Bobbie was born in Hartford, Connecticut and was a dancer on Broadway and in the modern dance world in New York. She later earned 2 Master Degrees; one in Social Work at Hunter college, New York and the other in Dance Therapy at Antioch, New England. After many years as a Dance Therapist at the Hudson River Psychiatric Center in New York, she joined her husband in establishing the Department of Musical Theater at the University of the Arts in Berlin, Germany. Together they published the book "Life upon The Wicked Stage". She is survived by husband Stanley; 2 sons, Matthew and Joshua and four grandchildren. Please do not send flowers. A memorial is planned for later this year in Palm Springs.[6]
