Biography
William was born in 1877. He is the son of Andrew Dobbins and Elizabeth Walker. [1]
In 1896, he emigrated to America and joined his brother Andrew in Massachusetts. Andrew had arrived there about 6 years earlier.
William became a Market Gardener and was self employed.
His sister Catherine arrived from Donegal in 1906 and also settled in Massachusetts.
On 24 January 1917, William married Catherine/Katherine Porter in Woburn, MA. Catherine was the daughter of Thomas Porter and Mary Ann Baskin.[2]
A daughter Elizabeth was born in 1919 followed by the birth of 2 sons, Kenneth and Richard.
William registered for the WWI Draft 1917-1918 [3] and in 1942 for the WWII Draft. [4]
William John Dobbins passed away in 1945. [5]
