Biography

Henry was born on 17 July 1883, ^[1], in Larbert, Sterlingshire, Scotland. ^[2]

Henry married Mary Jane Leach on the 7 May 1907, in Falkirk, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Henry was 24, an iron moulder, the son of William Dobbie, a stone mason, and Hannah Dobbie, formerly Smith. Mary Jane was also 24, a laundress, the daughter of Charles Leach, an engineer, and Mary Jane Leach formerly Smellie. Henry and Mary Jane lived at 6 Forganhall, Falkirk. Two of the witnesses to their marriage were Mary Jane's brother, Thomas Leach, and his wife Mary Ann formerly Ogden. Thomas and ary Ann were living at the same address as Henry and Mary Jane.^[3]

In 1911, Henry / Harry and Mary Jane, were living in Stips Street, Larbert, with Henry's parents William and Hannah, and Henry's brothers, Douglas and William. Henry / Harry is 27, employed as an iron moulder, born in Larbert. Mary Jane is 28, born in England. They have been married for four years with no children. ^[2]
