Biography

Josephine was born in 1863, the daughter of Herman Diebitsch and Magdalene (Schmid). Josephine was an author and also accompanied her husband on his Arctic travels, earning herself several distinctions such as first white woman to take part in Arctic exploration. She married Robert Edwin Peary and passed away in 1955.
