On 11 June 1807, John married Margaret Rice at Northampton. Witnesses at the wedding were Stephen Dickins and Elizabeth Dickins.
In 1841, John was listed as a 50 year old farmer (likely 54 years old) living at Cold Higham Lodge, Northamptonshire with his wife, Margaret, and four children (Stephen, Eleanor, Elizabeth and Margaret)[3]
In 1851 he was 64 years old and living at Cold Higham Lodge, Northamptonshire with his wife, six children and a grand daughter. [4]
