Doris was born in 1920. She was the daughter of Walter Dibble and Eva Rottenbury.[1]
She was the chairwoman of the League of Friends for the North Devon district hospital. The volunteers at the League of the Friends had raised £2.6 million for the hospital until its shop and café where closed in 2008 by the hospital.
In 1995 she was awarded the MBE for her charitable services to health care in North Devon.[2]
She passed away in 2011.[3]
Her obituary reads, DIBBLE Doris May M.B.E. Passed away peacefully at North Devon District Hospital on 5th September aged 91 years. A much loved lady who touched many lives, not only her friends and family, but the many charities she worked closely with. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Service to be held on Monday 26th September 2011 at St. Peter's Parish Church, Barnstaple at 11.00am, followed by private family cremation. Family flowers only please.[4][5]
