Biography

Laurene E. (Tillie) Gorsch was born on June 22, 1930, in Iowa City, Iowa, a daughter of Casimar and Mathilda Koehn Dhondt. She grew up in Williamsburg and attended school there. Laurene was united in marriage to Lornie E. Gorsch on March 15, 1948 in Williamsburg, Iowa. They made their home in Millersburg until 1988, when they moved to Williamsburg, later moving to Marengo and then back to Millersburg. Laurene worked in food service in the Millersburg and Williamsburg schools and for many years at Hometown Café and Dew Drop Inn. She enjoyed baking, gardening, eating ice cream, pudding and doing word search books. Lornie preceded her in death in December 2003.
