Biography

• Daniel was born in 1731 in Lebanon, Connecticut. He was the son of John Dewey and Experience Woodward.

• He joined the Connecticut Militia and rose to the rank of Captain. His company - called Captain Daniel Dewey's Company - was active in Lexington and Pennsylvania during the Revolutionary War. ^[1]

• He married Temperance Bailey

• He passed away in 1816.
