Biography

Thomas Despres was born on 16 Apr 1835 in Cocagne, New Brunswick, the son of Urbain Després and Marceline Surette.[1][2]

In the 1861 census Thomas (age 24 years) lived in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[3]

Thomas married Osite Melanson on 12 Jan 1863 in Cocagne.[4][5] Their parents were not named in the marriage record. Witnesses were Damien Melanson and Olive Despres.
